The Komodo Bioball K-40 4-pack of pickleballs is a professional pack designed for players looking for durability, control and consistent bounce on every point.
Its optimized construction and perforated design allow for super stable flight even outdoors, maintaining reliable performance in training and competition.
⭐ Consistent performance for demanding players
The Bioball K-40 stands out for its perfect balance between hardness and control. Its uniform weight and precise perforation distribution ensure clean trajectories and a predictable bounce, essential characteristics for mastering the rhythm of the game.
🌀 High-strength material
Made from a premium polymer, these balls maintain their shape for longer (almost 5 times longer, according to the manufacturer, compared to other balls, even after intense sessions). Their superior durability prevents deformation and guarantees consistent performance ball after ball.
🌤️ Perfect for outdoors
Thanks to their design geared towards outdoor play, the Bioball K-40 withstands wind, temperature changes, and hard surfaces without losing stability. Ideal for clubs, schools, and players who train frequently.

What is known about its lower environmental impact?
-
The manufacturer presents the BioBall as "the world's first biodegradable pickleball."
-
According to independent tests cited by the manufacturer, the BioBall “is expected to fully decompose in 3-5 years under normal conditions in a US landfill,” which contrasts with traditional balls, which can take “100 years or more” to degrade.
-
Furthermore, the BioBall is designed to be more durable: a single ball can last “up to 5 times longer” than a traditional ball — meaning fewer balls used and discarded over time, thus reducing the overall volume of waste.
-
In its marketing, it is emphasized that using BioBall helps "to reduce the plastic waste" generated by the massive use of pickleballs during their popularization.
-
The manufacturer explicitly acknowledges that the BioBall does not meet the definition of “biodegradable” according to several legal standards — for example, according to the guidelines of the Federal Trade Commission (FTC, USA), which require a product to fully degrade within one year under regulatory conditions.
-
In other words, although the ball contains a "decomposition accelerator" and under certain conditions can degrade in 3-5 years, this does not guarantee that it will degrade with the same rate in every environmental context (climate, landfill, microbiology, humidity, etc.). Decomposition depends heavily on environmental conditions.
-
They also warn that they “make no claims of recyclability, compostability, degradability or biodegradability” according to federal standards.
Komodo BioBall K-40 pickleballs offer a more sustainable alternative to traditional balls: being more durable, you need fewer balls per player/season; and after use and disposal, their composition allows for much faster degradation (theoretically 3–5 years vs. decades or centuries for conventional plastics).
However, it's not a "100% guaranteed eco-friendly ball." Its biodegradability depends on specific landfill conditions, and it's not certified as "biodegradable" by the regulations of many countries. Therefore, if you sell it on your e-commerce site, it's best to present these benefits honestly —for example, "has less potential impact" or "designed to degrade faster than conventional plastic under suitable conditions"—instead of absolute claims like "eco-friendly" or "100% biodegradable" without nuance.
